World famous and one of the greatest actresses of all times, divine Eleonora Duse was born in Italy and died in the USA in 1924. She was the daughter of two wandering actors, never went to school, but thanks to her incredible talent, sensitivity and uncommon charm, people made an idol of her, from Rome to Paris, from Buenos Aires to Berlin, from New York to St. Petersburg; she was adored by writers and literates of her time, from Cechov to Bernard Shaw, from Pirandello to Joyce, from Rilke to D'Annunzio.
