China invited Antonioni to film in the country, to visit and film in specific areas: Beijing; Linxian County; Jiangsu; Shanghai; Suzhou. During his five week stay Antonioni says that "We have just wanted to get a picture of China, we can't offer more". China Chung Kuo is an important document about China's social, cultural and human daily life history during the 70's.
