Ale is a small-town hotel owner: a hardworking, highly rational man obsessed with improving the quality of his services. The thorn in his side is Franz, his sister’s husband and a fellow with a bizarre, highly personal outlook on life, not to mention the intrusive idea of entering the hotel business in order to “help” Ale. When three shady figures arrive in the town, which is busy preparing for the annual “human pieces” chess game against the next town over, life gets quite complicated for both Ale and Franz, dragging them into a totally unexpected adventure.
