It is the eve of August 15th and the elderly Elvio Battistini, after his family’s departure for Greece, is now alone in the city.  The same is true for his friend Giuseppe Mondardini, who is alone but still has lots of joie-de-vivre and, in addition to that, owns a Lancia Appia car.   The two mean leave in the direction of Bordighera but end up in Saint Tropez, amidst imaginary romantic flings and adventures.
